If childhood is the best time to learn, then being a child is the only thing we truly learn in this world.

— Sufficient Reason

“

Everything that is
Is
Because there is sufficient reason
Everything that is not
Is not
For lack of sufficient reason

“

What is socialism? Socialism is an ideal.
What is capitalism? Capitalism is reality.
How can you put an end to an ideal? And how can you put an end to reality?
Both are indestructible.

That you're a man, that you have feelings, and that they hurt—that's the last thing you'd ever admit, because it's the truth.

“

Consciousness: How could the universe look at itself in the mirror?
How can there be an “outside” and an “inside” that are one and the same?
Mirror.
Consciousness is the universe in the mirror.

"What is" always leads to an infinite loop or to the limits of knowledge. Perhaps humans are better suited to "how."

"Morality, morality," they say, and kill the animals. "Morality, morality," others reply, and keep killing the animals...

— Sufficient Reason

“

Everything that is
Is
Because there is sufficient reason
Everything that is not
Is not
For lack of sufficient reason

What ought to be, but still is not
Seeks sufficient reason

What has attained sufficient reason
Need not be repeated or come to be again

Ideals have attained sufficient reason
Only new ideals need to be attained
Because they seek sufficient reason

It is not known whether reality seeks ideals
Or whether reason seeks ideals
Whatever it is, it does so out of necessity
The necessity of sufficient reason

And perhaps this explains it even further:
Once a child, there is no longer any need for it
And youth, maturity, old age, life
Insist on letting go; everything is left behind
And there is no need to repeat itself
Because sufficient reason has been attained

Perhaps that is why
Life marches toward death
And nothingness marches toward life
For they seek to attain something

3
“

Philosophy investigates the truth, poetry marvels at the truth, and literature is the truth.

“

Only a fool would believe that gay culture is all about sex. It’s really about sensuality, and that belongs to all of us. But here, I don’t know if it’s something within man or something greater than him. I think it’s something much greater and belongs to the universe.

“

A skeptic may not know what the world is, but he can point out what it is not, and that in itself is a great achievement.

“

Thinking with humor is the most childish of delusions, and thinking without humor is another great delusion.

3
“

For the human ideal, there is only one man.
For the ideal of life, there is only one animal.
For the ideal of the universe, there is only one life.

What threatens human life is opinion: democracy is not the result of opinion, but of reason and logic. We are playing a game with its own rules, called democracy, where opinion is one of the factors and rights—within its limits. After all, the fans are also part of the game, and it would be cruel to silence them. The fans’ enthusiasm is captivating and uplifting; however, competence will always prevail over a crowd that may voice its opinion but cannot change the outcome of this battle called reality.

“

From the perspective of “what is,” ultimately, we know nothing—or very little. Perhaps we are better suited to “how.”

“

If you don't think, someone else will think for you. If you don't act, someone else will act for you. In a way, existing is the art of taking up space.
